Best Features: it has alcohol in it!
Molson Ultra, what can I say, NEVER AGAIN! It is obvious from my photos that I could stand to lose a few pounds, in fact I have gone on the Atkins diet (and still somewhat try to reduce carbs in my life). Beer is something that shouldn't be messed with. If I drink beer for pleasure, I am not going to look at the label and check the number of calories. It is the same argument I have with non-alcoholic beer, WHY? Beer is supposed to taste like beer, Molson Ultra delivers alcohol (4.5%), that is the only reason why it gets 1. The mouthfeel burns, it has a terrrible aroma and no beer aftertaste. If you desire a low carb lifestyle try a rye & diet 7-up. Don't waste your time on this poor effort! I would rather not drink beer (yikes!) than drink Molson Ultra. |

Best Features: low carb
Having tried the low carb lifestyle last summer and given up the barley bevies for 3 months, I was very interested in what low carb beers would taste like. Surprisingly this beer still maintained a decent alcohol content (4.5%) despite being low carb. When poured this beer was a pale golden yellow colour and the head disappeared rather quickly. I was initially put off by the fragrance of the Molson Ultra, it was musty. The mouthfeel was extremely minimal in body and the aftertaste was very short. Since this is the first beer of the low carb genre that I have tried I have no reference to compare it to other than a regular beer I have rated this beer low.

Best feature: Low carb factor, it will take longer to grow your beer belly.
Out of all of the low carb beers I have tasted, this is one of two I can say are tolerable in quantities exceeding 1 bottle. We have to give brewers years to tweak & perfect the tastes of the low carb beers. Remember, the 1st diet colas tasted awful. It sips like beer & club soda mixed together with a weaker taste. The aroma needs to be worked on, I relate the scent to rotten veggies in my fridge. All in all, my rating is fair, based on a "low carb" rating system.
