Best Features: special and rich
Okanagan Spring Old English Porter is available in most liquor stores and comes in a very simple package. The pour produced a nice thick and full head that lingered for a long period of time. The sweet and roasted aroma are released immediately and lifting the bottle to the nose, the smell is even more intense. On the tongue Okanagan Spring Porter is very smooth with a lower carbonation level, typical of this style of beer. The robust malts attack the tongue immediately. The beer is a rich combination of chocolate, coffee and roasted flavours. At 8.5% this beer is definitely meant to be sipped and enjoyed over a long period of time. A great beer for the holiday season and perfect for matching with a nice turkey dinner or with a dessert made with chocolate.
Beer Fact: Okanagan Spring has a great selection of beer in every price range and also offers a 'collection' pack for people to try them all.

Best Feature: unique fruity tang
Okanagan Springs Porter is a dark rich chocolate colour with an inviting cascading foamy head. The nose is definitely unique with hints of sweetness and a very strong burnt aroma. I found the mouthfeel to be on the heavy side of medium, followed by a rather bitter finish. The aftertaste was very sharp and lingered on my tongue for quite sometime. It took me some time to adjust to the conspicuous burnt malt and fruity tang. It is difficult for me to measure this Okanagan Spring English Porter offering against its counterparts because there are not many similar beers available in British Columbia. I found the aftertaste a bit too strong for my liking and the burnt aftertaste a bit overwhelming. I definitely recommend this beer with dark chocolate and strong flavoured foods.
