Best Features: I got to do a review for the website!
I was really excited when the boys asked me to do a review for the website with them. I enjoy Indian Pale Ales because I find them easy to drink, but not too sweet. I don't usually enjoy microbrew beers but I found Hurricane I.P.A. from Storm Brewing to be smooth with a strong hoppy flavour. I would buy this beer at a pub or restaurant and recommend it for a nice relaxed day of drinking. |

Best Features: unique for an IPA, complex
The Lower Mainland boasts some of the most unique microbrew beers on the market, sampling the various beers is truly pleasure. Zayvin and I toured Storm Brewery a couple of weeks ago and collected some samples for the class. The beers are definitely a step away from the ordinary. The Hurricane I.P.A. from Storm Brewing combines an intense hoppy aroma and a pleasant, but bitter finish. This beer offers a complexity that beer connoisseurs will enjoy but also has a mild sweetness so it will not scare your average beer drinker away. To compliment this beer try it with a complex meal that has some intense flavours to match this intense beer. Hurricane I.P.A. is available directly from Storm Brewing in kegs, and is on tap only in a few pubs and restaurants around town. |

Best Features: inviting aroma, smooth aftertaste
Storm Brewing is located here in Vancouver and brew several different styles of beer. We tried the Hurricane I.P.A. which was a little different than a traditional I.P.A. in that it was unfiltered. In the glass, the beer was a translucent honey colour with a good compact head the remained for quite sometime. The fragrance I detected was definitely light hops chased with a note of sweet fruitiness. The mouthfeel was surprisingly pleasant with medium body and above average carbonation. The hoppy finish was strong, crisp and lingered on the back of my tongue.
