Best Features: red and scary!
Red Devil Ale is a regular during our Beer Tasting & Education classes and is a favourite among the students (and the instructors). The red colour almost glows in the glass and is very "devilish". The pour is smooth with good head retention. The aroma is a nice combination of malts and a slight sweetness. The mouthfeel is smooth, light, and distinct. The bold flavour coats the tongue and lingers for a brief period. Made in Vancouver, R & B's Red Devil Ale is a nice change from the ordinary. Try this beer as a devilish treat for Halloween!
Beer Fact: R & B is owned by Rick Dellow (the 'R') and Barry Benson (the 'B')who share more than 35 years experience in the international and local brewing industry. |

Best Features: complex and great name
I am a big fan of all of the R & B Brewing beers, especially Red Devil Ale. This is a great name for a beer with such a distinct red hue. Floral sweetness is present in the aroma and the beer is medium in body. The first sip of Red Devil Ale is always a shock to the senses and the malt lingers on the tongue for an extended period of time. Complex, but not overwhelming, there is a great combination of malts and hops very present in Red Devil Ale. Try matching this beer with a nice curry or spicy dish. Available in kegs or 650ml bottles in government liquor stores, look for Red Devil Ale or ask for it by name.
Beer Facts:
R & B Brewing features the only female brewer in British Columbia. R & B also offers a great deal on a "party package" for some unique flavours to spice up any party!

Best Feature: inviting colour
Red Devil Ale is a wonderful beer from R & B Brewing in Vancouver. It has an inviting amber colour with copper undertones. The nose was very subtle with a mild hoppy aroma that was touched with a hint of malty sweetness. I found the mouthfeel to be light with a lingering bitter finish. It has a medium amount of carbonation that is easy to swallow. This particular beer would go well with a strongly flavored type of meal to help off set the bitter finish, such as a rack of lamb or some BBQ.
