Bushman's Premium Australian Lager - Independent Breweries , Australia

Best Feature: gentle flavour
When poured from its green bottle, Bushman's Lager is a dark yellow beer with an average head that lingered. The hoppy aroma was very faint almost imperceptible. The light to medium mouthfeel is rather unusual almost feeling chewy. I found the palate to be mildly bitter with a short finish and soft aftertaste which disappeared quickly. The mouthfeel with this lager takes some getting used to because of the absents of sweetness typical of North American lagers. Overall not a bad beer for a party or after a hard day of work.

Best Features: inexpensive import
Bushman's Premium Quality Lager is a good example of a light beer that would work well with a heavy turkey dinner. Available in light green bottles, this beer has the import beer 'feel'. The pour produces a light yellow beer and the head retention is decent for a lager. The taste produces a mild bitterness that is followed by a short finish with no presents of sweetness. Smooth, crisp and light - this is why lagers are the most popular type of beer in the world, especially in the Southern Hemisphere. $10.95 is a good price point for Bushman's; it fits in with middle of the road lagers and is a lot cheaper than other import products that have less flavour.
Beer Fact: Australia has a lot of major breweries in the various provinces located throughout the country, very similar to the regional breweries in Canada. |

Best Features: versatility
Bushman's is a 5% clear golden lager has very subtle aroma, with average head retention. The lighter body of this beer is simple, but still provides a slight bitter flavour, with a very short aftertaste. Marketed as "Australia's Original Beer", Bushman's is available at BC government liquor stores for $10.95 / 6-pack, a decent price for an Auzzie import. Try pairing Bushman's a fancier creamy dressed salad, or pizza with basic toppings.
Beer Fact: When pairing food and beer: basic "rules of thumb" can change. This includes the many variances that depend on seasonings, spices, & accompaniments. Experiment!
