Best Features: cool gun metal grey can
Lasko Club is imported from Slovenia and comes in a gun metal grey can that is very cool looking. The pour produces a medium-lived head with larger wispy bubbles. In the glass the beer appears very light and crystal clear. The aroma is hoppy with no presences of sweetness. The mouthfeel is smooth with a medium amount of carbonation. The overall taste is light, with a lingering bitterness that starts from the front of the tongue and follows until the swallow. Overall the beer is a little watery, but good for drinking on a hot summer's day or after a long day of work. Try this beer mixed with water (or instead of water) when boiling some crab, lobster or corn on the cob.
Beer Fact: The Lasko Brewery website has some cool facts about beer, including the amount of vitamins the average beer contains; vitamin B1, B2, B5 & B6.

Best Feature: easy to drink
The Lasko Club comes packaged in a nice looking gun metal grey tall can. When I poured this beer, the head was nice and light with tight bubbles. The aroma was distinctly hoppy which complimented the clear pale straw yellow colour. I found the carbonation to be on the high side with a very light mouthfeel. The flavour was short with a very light bitterness in the finish. It was not crisp or biting as I would have expected given the high level of carbonation. This would be a good beer for a hot and sunny afternoon, very light and easy to drink. |

Best Feature: great price for an import
Brewed in Lasko Slovenia, Lasko Club is a 4.9% clear light golden coloured, typical pilsner styled European lager. It has a clean, average carbonated mouthfeel, with a slight hoppy finish. Overall, this beer has a very light and lacks flavour. Sold at government liquor stores for only $2.15 / 500ml tall can. You can definitely drink more than a few of these beer at a gathering without the fear of bloating. Lasko Club would pair well with any milder dish like a white fish or simply prepared chicken.
Beer Fact: Lasko Brewery has been brewing since 1825, with the exception of a couple of production stops. One being a two year halt was due to a bomb during World War II intended for a nearby bridge, which accidentally destroyed the brewery.
