Best Features: great taste, unique
I find this authentic Leffe Blonde Belgian Abbey beer very different...in a good way. It's fruity, full bodied taste would be a great dessert beer. This is the type of beer you buy for pure taste and enjoyment as a connoisseur, not to pound back. Currently, it's sold by the bottle at the liquor stores, and consistantly sells out. Definitely worth picking up a bottle or two the next time you're shopping.

Best Features: fruity aroma
It is not too often that we totally disagree on a beer of the week, but here you go. I recognize the complex flavours of Leffe Blonde and aromas of this beer, but this beer is trying to do too much. This is my lowest ranked beer so far. I was turned off by the purchase price (one of the most expensive beers in the store) and the harsh spicy hop flavour is overwhelming. The aftertaste is bitter and lacks smoothness. There is a hint of orange, vanilla and caramel, but these flavours are lost in the mix. I would drink this beer again if I was in Belgium touring the brewery or if it was free! |

Best Features: sunny colour, fruity aftertaste
This Leffe Blonde beer has a delightful sunny yellow colour when observed in a glass. The head is short lived and the carbonation level is about average. It has a very subtle but distinct aroma which I could only describe as woody. The mouthfeel is very light and fizzy followed by a crisp and fruity aftertaste. I found it palatable and a unique beer if you feel adventurous.
