Best Features: alluring colour, smooth taste

Dead Frog Brewery produces some of the best local beer available in Vancouver! Dead Frog Pale Ale is an excellent beer that is distinctive, smooth and full flavoured. The quality and craftsmanship is easy to taste in every glass. The initial pour creates a dark copper colour that is exquisite. The aromas are immediately released and the fluffy and full dense head has a light brownish hue. The aroma is a combination of malty sweetness with slight hoppy and roasted bouquet. The mouthfeel is very light for a beer that is this complex and tantalizing. Overall, Dead Frog Pale ale is smooth, easy drinking, unique and second to none in the Pale Ale style of beer. The Dead Frog Pale ale goes well with any sort of traditional pub food and would also work well as a marinade for your favourite meat or stew. Look for the green frog leg tap handles at local pubs and restaurants. Bring on the Dead Frog.

Beer Fact: Dead Frog Brewery has done an excellent job marketing throughout the Lower Mainland and is in a great position to take the next "leap" in the BC beer scene.

Best Features: excellent aroma and mouthfeel

Dead Frog Pale Ale is the reason why a person should come to the 2006 Canada Cup of Beer! This beer is not available in cans or bottles but is available at local pubs, restaurants and straight from the brewery for your next keg friendly occasion. Located in Aldergrove, BC, this brewery definitely has the right recipes for success. In the glass the Dead Frog Pale Ale is a clear copper colour with the perfect amount of carbonation and head retention. This is definitely one of the tastiest Pale Ale's I have tried yet. From start to finish the slightly roasted and malty flavours please the tongue. Definitely a treat and very true to the Pale Ale Style. Although traditionally, food pairings with Ales work well with meat, this brew will work well with poultry and seafood as well.

Beer Fact: Many microbrews are family owned and operated. Derrick Smith, the owner, brewer and ceo of Dead Frog Brewery works in all aspects of the company. On any day you can catch Derrick, brewing, delivering beer, working in the office and sweeping the floors!

Best Features: coppery colour, malty sweetness

Pale Ales have a range of flavours but Dead Frog Brewery produces a Pale Ale that is robust and second to none. In the glass this beer has an inviting copper colour and a light hoppy aroma with a hint of malty sweetness.  The head was tight and compact and it lingered nicely. The mouthfeel of Dead Frog Pale Ale was more on the medium side with an average carbonation making this beer smooth and easy to drink.  The surprise is in the finish, a light slightly hoppy finish with a hint of malt sweetness.  The aftertaste was short and disappeared rather quietly leaving me wanting another sip.  This is a very smooth beer that I could drink all night. Contact the brewery directly to order a keg and try it with your next summer BBQ! Dead Frog Pale Ale is a favourite of our beer tasting students, check it out at the 2006 Canada Cup of Beer!

Beer Fact: Dead Frog Brewery is BC's newest microbrew but has been on the market for several years. Formerly know as Backwoods Brewing, Dead Frog offers some great products including Pale Ale, Nut Brown, Honey Brown and a lager that is anything but traditional.
