Best Features: clean and clear, visually appealing!
OK Spring 1516 is one of the most popular Okanagan Spring products and it is easy to see why. This beer is clear and looks great when you pour it into a glass. The taste is smooth and clean. It is really light (but distinctive) and it is easy to have several in one sitting (it is a great beer to take to a party!). Drinking Okanagan Spring 1516 Bavarian Lager and reading the bottle makes me wonder: "What ingredients are in the other beers we drink?". As a beer historian, it is great to see that some companies still believe in the purity laws! This beer is very versatile and would go with a variety of foods and tastes. The clean taste will leave your mouth refreshed. Great for all occasions.

Best Features: only 4 ingredients, no preservatives or fillers.
1516 is all natural. There are only 4 ingredients: water, grains, hops, and yeast. It gets its name from the Bavarian purity law of ingredients from the year 1516. It has it's own distinguished taste, which is not harsh, and it has no bad after taste. This is in my top 20 beer flavours. It is smooth, crisp, light, yet full of flavour. Simply a pleasure and I enjoy this beer especially during bbq season or on a hot summer day after work.

Best Feature: gentle lingering aftertaste
The OK Spring 1516 is quickly becoming a popular beer throughout BC. Available in both bottles and golden cans the beer is a great price ($10.75 a six pack). Extremely great value for a truly premium product. The pour created a tight head with a lot of bubbles, indicating a higher level of carbonation. The pale yellow beer had a nice mixture of hops and malty sweetness. On the tongue the beer is crisp, but does not sting like some beers with higher carbonation level. The finish is smooth, crisp, slightly bitter and hoppy. An excellent beer and a great gift for your beer loving friends. Try 1516 with some white fish, chips and salsa or on a patio in the hot sun. |
