2012 is the 10 year anniversary of Just Here For The Beer and we are working on bringing you bigger and better events. So keep an eye out and come down and enjoy some of the best beer in the world brewed right here in British Columbia.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Colin Jack
founding member of Just Here For The Beer. Colin passed away very
suddenly and very unexpectedly at the end of February. While his
passing has left a giant hole in the lives of many, after consulting
with his family and friends we have agreed to continue Just Here For The
Beer in his honor. A scholarship fund has been set up in his name and Just Here For The Beer will strive to raise funds so that the scholarship will be able to be used to reward those students who embody the qualities that Colin held in highest regard.

The Colin Jack Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Colin Jack Memorial Scholarship fund has recently awarded scholarships of $700 each to two very deserving students from St. John's School in Vancouver. The selection process was carried out by the faculty at school and was based on the following criteria:
- One scholarship will go to a male student and one will go to a female student.
- The successful applicant will have a good academic record.
- The successful applicant will need financial help to attend post secondary education.
- The successful applicant has an ability to lead by example in at least 2 of the following areas: community service, athletics, entrepreneurship or coaching.
- The successful applicant is a Canadian citizen or is a permanent resident.
Colin believed in honour and integrity, that to give back to others was the greatest sign of your success, and that academics should be balanced with a very healthy dose of fun. For those who knew Colin, you will appreciate that these criteria were things that Colin embodied in his daily life not just as a teacher but as our friend.
